Ambulatory Surgery

Through ambulatory surgery (also called outpatient surgery), LRMC patients can enter the hospital, have their surgery or procedure, and return home to begin their recovery all in the same day, and at a greatly reduced cost compared with inpatient surgery.

Leesburg Regional Day Surgery Center

The Leesburg Regional Day Surgery Center (LRDSC) enables patients to have surgery in the morning and recover in the comfort of their homes. LRDSC provides the same quality medical care you would receive as an inpatient at LRMC at a greatly reduced cost.

For the maximum convenience of our surgical patients, LRDSC offers a pre-admission program (for patients who will have same-day surgery here or inpatient surgery at the hospital itself) which allows these patients to go through the admission procedure days before surgery is performed. Outpatient lab, x-ray and electrocardiogram (EKG) testing is completed and reviewed, and patients receive their pre-operative instructions from a nurse. Other aspects of the admission process, such as finances, can be taken care of at this time. The pre-admission program alleviates any added stress on the day of surgery.

Day surgery means less time spent in the hospital and more time recovering surrounded by family and friends.

Hours

Monday through Friday, 7 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. for outpatient surgery, preoperative care, postoperative care and pain management.

Pre-admissions: Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.

LRMC Ambulatory Surgery Unit

The Ambulatory Surgery Unit (ASU) at LRMC provides patients with the same safety and quality of medical care as they would receive as inpatients at LRMC.
