Surgical Post Operative Unit

This unit serves general surgery and orthopedic post-op patients as well as bariatric procedure patients. General surgery includes bowel, vascular, cholestectomy and urology. Orthopedic procedures include total joints, hips and knees, shoulder (rotator cuff), some back surgeries and repairs of hip fractures. The unit also cares for some medical patients and any minor surgical patients requiring hospitalization.

This unit provides only inpatient services. Most surgical patients return to the unit following their surgical procedure.

Staffing consists of the registered nurse who develops and updates each patient’s plan of care; licensed practical nurse, nurse techs and certified nursing assistants.

Location

Leesburg Regional Medical Center—South campus: Take the elevator next to administration to the second floor and turn right.

Hours

24 hours a day, seven days a week.
